BioC: Notification of upcoming event




Good morning from California where the lights are on and the gas is still
flowing:

The California Integrated Waste Management Board, a state agency under the
California Environmental Protection Agency, will be sponsoring a 2-day forum
on conversion technologies for municipal residuals.  The forum will focus on
the role that technologies such as gasification and hydrolysis can play in
diverting post-recycled organic materials and paper from landfills and
converting them into energy, ethanol, and other products.  The forum will
focus on working sessions to identify barriers and develop potential
recommendations regarding these technologies.  However, the first morning
will feature speakers and panels.  The keynote speaker will be David Morris
of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, author of "The Carbohydrate
Economy" and a member of the federal biomass R&D technical advisory
committee.

registration fee is $75 until April 18th and is $125 thereafter.  The hotel
