RE: BIO DIESEL.....GLYCERINE SOAP
Steve,
Production of nitroglycerin from waste glycerine seems not to be a good
idea. It requires very pure stuff and complicated regulations (probably in
any country). You can hardly compete with large companies. Maybe, glycerine
can substitute ethylenglycol (poisonous) as an antifreeze liquid

Making biodiesel profitable. Try adding a ;little phosphoric and nitric
acid to your glycerine to get nitroglycerin. I'll bet yuou could make more
money off of it than soap. Look what it did for Nobel, he made the stuff
into dynamite, made a lot of money off it, and got two of the most
prestigious prizes in the world named after him. Besides all of the
economic advantages there could also be significant, beneficial social
ramifications of having your ownexplosives factory, ala Fight Club. It
could give your biodiesel manufacturing operation a lot of impact. And all
from a waste product!
Sorry, I have no sources to back my claims of beneficial social change,
but I could provide sources for the Nobel bit and the reaction if you
need, email me off the list..
Seriously though, I appreciate your effort to do something with the
leftovers. I'm lucky my curbside recyclers pick up hazmats or I don't know
what I would do with it. (I'm not much into radical social change).
Steve
