Re: Powwer generation based on thermal gradiamts.

what abot more land based aplications like geothermal pumps, but used to gerat power instead of controling tempature? If the earths subserfac constent temp. (asumed 58 degrees Fahrenhite) is used as the base for the OTEC power generation and it is design to work in 2 directions, earth is the condenser in wormer weather and evaperater in colder weather. Has there been any reserch more like that? I am gessing that the system woudl need to operat at difrent preshers

Justin,

Search for OTEC, Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion.

Much reasearch off Hawaii, by Marisco Engineering and DOE, called OTEC 1.

OTEC never solved biofouling issues and it caused an algal bloom by releasing deep water nutrients at the surface

I am looking for any info on reserch related to electricity prodution using thermal gradiants. I have seen some were wear a group was reserching a way to generate electricity prom the thermal gratiant in the oceans using teh cold deep water to condense and teh warmer shalow water to evaperat the the gas medium. That is the type of reserch in looking for.
