Bio-oil Producer, Ensyn Group Inc. Extends Its Lead In the Pyrolysis
Industry
With An Expansion In Processing Capacity To 5 Million Gallons Per Year
BOSTON, February, 28, 2002. Ensyn Group Inc., ("Ensyn") announced today
that it has successfully completed the commissioning of its latest
commercial RTP(tm) biomass pyrolysis unit, which increases the RTP(tm)
capacity to greater than 200 tons per day (wet basis). The world's largest
RTP(tm) facility now processes 150 tons per day at one location.
Commercial operation has now commenced for the new RTP(tm) biomass refinery,
which converts wood into liquid bio-oil used for fuel applications and for
the production of specialty other chemical products. This expansion will
meet increased customer demand for Ensyn's natural chemical products,
including polymer and co-polymer products for industrial use, natural
chemical products for the food industry, carbon, and bio-oil renewable
energy products. Ensyn's bio-oil production capacity now exceeds 5 million
gallons per year.
Mr. Barry Freel, Ensyn's Vice President and Chief Technology Officer,
commented "We are delighted to announce this important expansion in
capacity. The new capacity reflects a new generation of RTP(tm) technology
with enhanced processing efficiencies and design. This expansion represents
a fast-track strategy to meet urgent customer demand for existing RTP(tm)
products and secures capacity to allow us to continue the commercialisation
of new bio-oil based natural chemical and renewable energy products.
"Ensyn continues to succeed in unlocking commercial value from low value
biomass feedstocks", stated Dr. Robert Graham, President and Chief Executive
Officer. " This production expansion confirms Ensyn's clear leadership in
the pyrolysis industry and the efficacy of the RTP(tm) technology. We expect
this expansion will be followed by the construction of additional RTP(tm)
and bio-oil refining capacity in the near future."
Ensyn Group Inc. is a US corporation which produces and markets renewable
and alternative fuels and value-added products manufactured from
carbon-based feedstock's utilising its proprietary RTP(tm) technology. The
first commercial RTP(tm) facility was commissioned in 1989.
