Dear Fred ....del... >Is it just me, or does it seem to others that this topic is really >catching fire of late? (No pun intended.) Like the Gallows in the morning, there is nothing like a Mid-East instability situation to focus ones attention on energy issues. :-) Sadly, however, History since 1973 shows us that as soon as things get stable "over there", we quickly forget about energy, and then interest in conservation and alternative disappears until the next crisis. What would be really neat is if someone did research on "the true cost" of energy, where purchase price AND hidden costs were included. How much of the US Military Budget is justified on the basis of a necessity to ensure the availability of Middle East petroleum?
