Eastern Europe / Former Soviet Union Biomass Information

Colleagues,
Black & Veatch is currently performing a renewable energy study for the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The project will
assess the potential for renewable energy in 27 countries located throughout
Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The ultimate
objective is to identify a pipeline of renewable energy projects suitable
for further investigation and possible financing by the EBRD. Further
information (including initial report) on the project is available at
http://projects.bv.com/ebrd <http://projects.bv.com/ebrd> .

The countries of interest are: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus,
Bosnia/Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia,
Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, FYR Macedonia, Moldova,
Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan,
Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and FR Yugoslavia.

My purpose in sending this email is to solicit information on (1) general
biomass resources for the targeted countries and (2) specific biomass
projects you'd like B&V/EBRD to consider. If you have information on either
of the above, it would be greatly appreciated.

Our final report to EBRD including country profiles, identified projects,
and maps for each of the 27 countries will be available later this year. I
hope it will be a valuable resource for the biomass and renewable energy
communities.

Best Regards,
Ryan Pletka
