DIG-L: Anaerobic granulation
Dear all,
As an operator of a mesophilic industrial hybrid USAB reactor, on
carbohydrate waste, I was wondering if anyone has any up to date info /
references on ideal start up and operation conditions, with respect to
individual VFA's, to enable ideal promotion of granulation. The theories I
know of talk of :
a. high acetic, then low acetic conditions (de Zeeuw)
b. acetic never greater than 200 mg/l (Wiegant)
to achieve the most stable granules.
Are these still acceptable and is there any more recent theories that add to
these or confirms these?
Regards
