Yes, you are correct. Unfortunately, most of the US population requires instant
gratification. Organic farming does not provide this. While there is a growing
segment of the population (no pun intended) that is becoming sensitive to the
environment, there is not yet a critical mass that will allow for rapid
expansion of 'environmentally friendly' processes and methods. How to provide
instant gratification from AD in order to build this critical mass is the
question.
