DIG-L: biogas from anaerobic ponds

Hi, I note Brian Smylas' comment re inactivity on the list, so here
is some traffic from New Zealand. I am undertaking some postgrad
research into the temperature dependency of gas generation from
anaerobic ponds treating farm dairy waste within the psychrophilic
range (-4 to 20 C). I would welcome any recent references that anyone
may have ... the journals are a bit slow getting here (like 6 months)
I am particularly interested to hear from anyone who is or has been
into this area of research. I note that the gas appears to be
generated in the sludge layers during to colder months and erupts as
major surface disturbances whereas during summer gas appears to be
evolved in the surface (supernatent) layers with fewer major "sludge
eruptions" ... any comments?
I am also attempting to develop a protocol for estimation of gas
productivity for these ponds such that a quick assessment can be
made.
Our farm ponds are typically 3.5 to 5.5 metres deep with a surface
aspect ratio of about 1and have BOD(5) loadings of 0.020 to 0.028
kg/m^3/d.
