RE: DIG-L:

Hi Sanna

I can't claim to know as much as some of the people on this list but I can
give you a few suggestions:

1. I know there's a Finnish company called Eco-Technology JVV OY (EcoTec)
that supposedly has plants in Finland and Germany and may build one in
India - I found that info here:
http://www.undp.org.in/programme/GEF/september/page16-20.htm

2. The AD net website has contacts from different countries
http://www.ad-nett.org/index.html

3. There's a Swiss website in German and English :
http://www.biogas.ch/

4. My company works with a German company, BTA, which has several operating
plants in Europe (mostly Germany):
http://www.bta-technologie.de/files/infostart-e.htm

I used to work at an anaerobic digestion plant for foodwaste and some of the
most important things to monitor were pH, volatile fatty acids,
concentration of solids (total and volatile), ammonia, and methane content
of the biogas. I think this is true for digestion of most types of waste,
but I may be wrong.
Anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of solid waste is not nearly as
widespread as sewage sludge & agricultural waste digestion, but there are a
couple of plants starting up in Canada that I know of, and quite a few in
Europe, some of which were built by BTA above.

Hope this gives you a start. If you have more questions you can email me
directly too.
