Dear Sir,
We are negotiating with the Belgian government to use the anaerobic
digestate in agriculture. One of the restrictions is to have a stabilised product
that doesn’t smell or doesn’t start to digest when transported or
stocked. We can not use the existing tests from the aerobic composts to
determine if the digestate is stable.
I can imagine that we can use concentrations of fatty acids as a parameter.
Probably also a test of biogasproduction at a certain temperature. I want
to ask you if there is a certain stability test in circulation, is there a
standard?
In the same context I want to ask if anyone has scientifically proven the
‘soil improving’ activation of digestate from anaerobic digesters.
Does anyone have numbers of things like: less need of herbicides and
pesticides when using anaerobic digestate?
Any help would be very useful to me!
Thank you, and,
Best Regards,
Wouter Platteau
