DIG-L: Anaerobic Treatment in Industry

Dear AD-list members,

The Lettinga Associates Foundation would like to inform you about the upcoming
short course on

Anaerobic Treatment of Industrial Waste Water (AWWT)
10 - 21 June 2002
Wageningen, Delft, The Netherlands
http://www.ftns.wau.nl/lettinga-associates/

The AWWT-course offers fundamental knowledge and practical information on the
anaerobic treatment of process waters in various sectors of industry. The
course is of interest to engineers and scientists working in industry,
governmental bodies or engineering firms. Emphasis in this course will be put
on the application of anaerobic treatment systems in industry for the
purification and reclamation of waste and process waters. The course is
organized by three dutch institutes, i.e. the Lettinga Associates Foundation
(LeAF), the Wageningen University and The International Institute for
Infrastructural, Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (IHE-Delft).
Specialists from the organizing institutions and from industries will share
their knowledge and experiences with the participants in the 2 weeks program.
The curriculum has been developed in such a way that a balance is made between
theory (transfer of knowledge via lectures) and practice (via workshops,
assignments, case studies and field visits). Attention will be paid to the
following subjects:
·	Industrial waste management
·	Process design and anaerobic reactor technology
·	Microbiology of anaerobic processes
·	Chemistry of anaerobic processes
·	Water quality aspects and characterization of the wastewater
·	Pre treatment and post treatment methods
·	Full-scale application of AWWT in various sectors of industry

The AWWT course, organized since 1988, so far attracted participants from more
than 61 countries all over the world. Since you are active in the field of
anaerobic digestion, I wonder if you or someone in your organization would be
interested in participating in the course. Current information on content,
program and registration for the course can be found on the internet
(http://www.ftns.wau.nl/lettinga-associates/).

Kind regards,

dr. ir. S. Kortekaas
(AWWT course coordinator)
