DIG-L: FW: GAS TREATMENT ENQUIRY
Herewith I forward some questions regarding biogas treatment comming from
Julian Saw in Birma.
If someone has practical answers for his small scale project please send
them to his mail address

Subject: GAS TREATMENT ENQUIRY
Dear Sir
I'm an electrical engineer from Burma( Myanmar),currently working in
Singapore. I'm interested in anaerobic digestion to produce methane to use
for cooking, driving gas engine. I knew about methane gas, can be produced
from waste such as animal manure, vegetable waste since I was quite young.
Now I've been surfing many web sites for anaerobic digestion and I have
collected some quite good enough information but I believe I still need to
consult with some experts like you to know about more of anaerobic
digestion.
I have two cows but I can buy cattle manure from my neighbour those who not
interested in anaerobic digestion to
produce bio gas. I'm thinking to use bio gas to drive engine. For that
purpose I should do gas treatment to prevent from corrosion of engine parts
to remove H2S, CO2 and moisture. Information from a web site is to use iron
oxide pellets to scrub H2S as cheapest way. What is iron oxide? It is just
rusty iron?
To remove CO2 is using water. How is it. My idea is simple way. Just let the
gas flow through series of water tubes. Change CO2 saturated water (
carbonic acid) regularly. Is it possible? Effective?
To remove water(moisture) is just condensing method.
Can I have above 90% purified methane gas?
How is your suggestion?
I will be very thankful if you can provide me some useful information for
bio gas treatment with very simple and least expensive way to do it.
Best regards, Julian
