DIG-L: Filling a poly digester...How??

For those of you who have filled poly systems, can you tell me if you
have filled them over the entire surface area gradually, or in one area
and then gradually expanded this area?
Im thinking of the filling process and wondering if I have to put a one
foot "hurdle" under the bag, a "baffle" of sorts, and move this
gradually along so as to concentrate the filling in one place?
Ideas, suggestions and comments welcome as usual..
thanks gentlemen...
