DIG-L: papers on digestion
Len Walde
digestion@crest.org
I saw your request
for papers on digestion, there are many of them, I assume you mean
anaerobic digestion. I enclose what we did to show the system worked. The
County and the City were not interested but some big systems are being
built in CA.
I don’t know where you are located but I might note that the CO2 you get
from the reaction can be used to soften hard water. In fact a farm in AZ
has done it for 30 years, you bubble the CO2 through the hard water it
drops from pH=8.6 to 7.2.
The CH4 can be used for heating or, if separated from the CO2 and dried,
it works very well as a fuel for autos. Let me know if you need more
help, food, green waste and wastepaper work fine as long as you keep the
mixture stirred up. I can tell you how to do that, nothing mechanical is
needed.
