Hello everybody, For about a month I has been trying to recover our UASB reactor from an acidification episode, with no success. I tried with clean water, sodium bicarbonate and small loads of wastewater, but its performance hasn't improve at all. The wastewater before the reactor is absolutely normal, with no significative changes on its composition. Anybody can tell me if this behaviour may be caused by an excess of sludge? if so, which is the recommended quantity of sludge in a UASB reactor? Thank you very much and Greetings from Colombia, Jose Luis Ocampo P.
