EAA - Las Vegas Chapter Nov. Meeting

The guest speaker at the November meeting of the Las Vegas Chapter of the
EAA will be Dr. Martin J. Bernard III.  He will discuss the concepts of
the National Station Car Association, of which he is the executive
director.  Dr. Bernard has 15 years experience as a scientist at Argonne
National Laboratory, where he founded the Center for Transportation
Research, and has spent the last six years as a private consultant.

His background includes managing the Laboratory-wide Conservation
Program to research and assess fuel-switching and conservation
technologies sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy in the 1980s;
and performing transportation energy and environmental analyses for three
foreign countries, the United Nations, the World Bank and the Organization
for Economic Cooperation and Development.

During 1991-1994 he developed and performed significant analysis for the
Public and Advanced Transportation Program for EPRI, and assisted them
in writing specifications for battery-powered buses.

Dr. Bernard holds a Ph.D. in urban transportation systems engineering and
policy planning from Northwestern University's Technological Institute,
and a M.S. from Oklahoma State University and B.S. from Illinois Benedictine
College, both in physics and mathematics.

excited at the prospect of having him as our guest speaker and hope that
many of you will be able to attend our meeting in November.  It is:

way from the airport )

Notice that our meeting is during COMDEX week;  I know some of you will
be in town for that and will want to visit with the local EV enthusiasts
as well as have the opportunity to hear Marty's talk and meet him in person
after getting to know him via our EV list.
