Re: Charging at home

Hi Lee and All;

  Charging at home CAN be convenient. I had an outfit with one of
my 1st cars, in "Nam ,one that looked like an Electrithon or Ford's
Quadricycle 1890's version. When it needed to feed, drove onto a
4by 4 foot square of plywood that had wheel guides and a
stopping block at the end. The wheel's weight turned on a
micro-switch, as two spring contacts, made from used hacksaw
blades, contacted plus and minus studs under the car. The
transformer and rectifiers were on the board that I called a "
Charging Deck". When the lite came on, you were ON! No tech.
expertese needed , the Vietnamese had no problens with it
ether- drive on and walk away! It would have to be more
suphisticated for Hi-voltage, but the theory's good. I'm planning,
definatly, to set it up for my Wabbit, when the time comes, as
the spot, and #6 wiring is in place-120-240, for all future
charging at Killingworth's CT"s ONLY Electric Car charging
station, for now. Maybe more will follow?

Bob                                      ......chargin' along!
