Could this be made even better by running wire in a coil on the ground
(perhaps underneath a platform) and a similar coil in the bottom of the car?
Unless I'm severely misunderstanding something, this would provide inductive
charging.  I wouldn't use a microswitch; I would drive up to the platform and
turn it on.
