Chrysler Sets Lease Rates for Electric Minivans in New York State

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE:C)
today announced lease rates and terms for the 1998 Dodge Caravan and
Plymouth Voyager electric minivans which will be offered to fleet customers
in the state of New York.

The five-passenger minivan, called the EPIC (an acronym for Electric Powered
Interurban Commuter), will be offered at a lease rate of $450 per month with
$0 money down for a two-year term. As an option, the Company is offering a
one-time single payment lease rate of $10,000 for a two-year term. The lease
rates are available through Chrysler Financial Corporation.

Chrysler is committed to advancing electric vehicle technology. Between 1993
and 1995 Chrysler sold its first generation TEVans to fleets across the
country. Chrysler began selling the new EPIC to fleet customers in
California earlier this year.

In conjunction with Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, Chrysler will be
holding a series of ``ride and drive'' programs next week to introduce the
EPIC across the state of New York. The dates and locations are: Nov. 4,
Genesee Hotel/Holiday Inn, Batavia; Nov. 5, Sheraton University Hotel,
Syracuse; and Nov. 6, Marriott Hotel, Albany.

In conjunction with Consolidated Edison, Chrysler will be hosting a ``ride
and drive'' program to introduce the EPIC on Monday, Nov. 10 at The Learning
Center, 43-82 Vernon Boulevard, Long Island City. All programs start at 9:30
