    Tony, your post really hit home with me, as yesterday on
Thanksgiving day, I was up early working on Bruce Meland's Veggie Van
(ElectraVan 600), doing improvements and various upgrades. I have had
quite a bit of experience with two of these vans over the last couple of
years, and know them inside and out.
    I was also around when Subaru did indeed, import both the van and
the car version (360 Egg), so I don't know what moron you talked to at
Subaru, but I can assure you, that they certainly did import these vans
as a  rear engine, 2 stroke, 2 cylinder design. In fact, years ago, when
I was much younger, my best buddy's father bought one brand new, and I
had many rides in it. These people lived four houses down from our
house, so I knew the van well.
   I do believe that these vans and cars were only brought into the
Western states, so if you are located in the Midwest or on the East
Coast, perhaps your Subaru dealer isn't aware of these facts.
    I am going to be checking with a large Subaru parts house in
Portland today, to see if I can get a new set of rear light assemblies
for the Veggie van....I will check to see if they can still get a
windshield, too.
