Hello, Mitch!
Words escape me that would adequately express my sorrow about you
freezing your arse in the snowy wastes of North Carolina. By the way,
at Bangor, Washington where you left last summer, today's weather was
about 50 degrees, dry and sunny. Tomorrow's forecast also calls for 50
degees. Again let me extend my deepest sympathy. <BSEG>
It's good to hear that you are pleased with your new Kostov motor.
Take the vibration seriously. I shudder at the thought of you using
the Rod Wilde method of vibration correction. Where would you hit
with the hammer?
If I were you I'd rig up a tachometer on the motor or a speedometer
on the transmission output and take the motor up to operating
speeds to see how bad it is.
You might consider taking things apart again and running the motor
without the pressure plate to be sure that the pressure plate is the
culprit. If it still vibrates, take off the flywheel. It seems
unlikey but possible that the motor by itself would vibrate.
