Is there anything in the NEC that prohibits using 2, 3, or more 120
volt 20 amp outlets to change your EV? Maybe we could use a
half-dozen for a 14.4 KW charge ...
---
I did not see any mention that you could not do this. That is why
I went with several chargers in parallel, rather than one Large
charger. It will give me the flexibility to 'suck power' from nearly
any combination of outlets. I have six flush mounted male receptacles
mounted where my grill was (It kind of looks like my EV is ready to
'Bite' a power pole. I will have about 14KW charging capability.
I have had one response for going forward (Yay) to install Avcon
conductive receptacle in my blazer (please send me your views Yay or
nay).
There was an inquiry as to 'where to mount it'.
IHMO: The connection to the power should always be in front. Power
will be provided in front of the vehicle as it parks in the public EV
parking spots I had seen, and what I have set up at my work (HP).
I have seen the Production EVs put the connection on the side-front
fender area. This is not optimal. It uses valuable 'between the
parked cars' space, it makes the power cable longer, and it takes just
that much longer to connect it (imagine a person in uncomfortable
weather conditions).
