Accessory voltage

(Dru thinking outloud again)

How many amps max are required for the accessory system, say at night in
the rain with the radio and heater fan going?

Has anyone tried using three surplus PC power supplies (the 5 volt
section) in series for a 15 volt accessory voltage? Is that really too
high? They would fit nicely in place of the original battery, and run
from what I understand off a wide variety of input voltages (guessing 108
to 170 volts to be OK)

The surplus PC supplies I have are rated anywhere from 18 to 80 amps on
the 5 volt side, and surplus PCs of the 8088 genre are free for the
hauling in some cases, and very inexpensive in other cases.

Just a thought, and I haven't tried this, so no flames please. Smoke OK,
but no flames :)
