The mass-produced (i.e. cheaper) inverters are all 12v or 24v. You could
use contactors (expensive) or Anderson connectors (laborious), or a big
knife switch (which you'd probably have to make) to rewire your pack to 12v
or 24v for occasional inverter use.

Of course, paralleling the batteries keeps them in balance very nicely. And
the Trace and Heart inverters include *big* battery chargers.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have a car with battery boxes like Bob
Schneeviess's Sno-White? The boxes have a cover with big spring contacts to
each battery post Opening the lid disconnects all the batteries. Have one
lid that wires the batteries in series for driving, and a second lid with a
second set of contacts for charging. Then use a big inverter/charger for
charging. And you have a rolling source of 120vac when portable power is needed.
