On our VW Rabbit, the worst case draw figured out to 42 amps--lights,
wipers, defrost blower, brake lights, turn signals, tape deck (not John
Wayland's).

Not sure about in series.  We recently had a computer hardware engineer
taking one of our workshops, and he commented that computer dc/dc converters
do not like to be hooked up in parallel.  Would recommend caution and
research among computer hardware experts.
