When I first read their claims, I wondered how continuing alarming
rates of extinctions could lead to =more= plants and animals. Where are the
new ones coming from? I then realized that if you are measuring plants and
animals by the pound, then they are definitely correct in their assertion.
But what is better, lots of monocultures or less of a highly diverse
and deeply interacting ecosystem?
