Actually it isn't. It was made at the time by Canadian American
Motors, a join venture between Suzuki and GM in Canada. The original
design is a Suzuki, but there are a number of minor differences having
to do with US reg's. The Suzuki Sprint was more for the Asian market
I believe. Nowdays it's all GM.
The reason for using the Geo was because it's *not* an import, by the
standards that government buyers have to follow.
