Re: golf cart parts?
So, It looks like you want a real small vehicle.
Well A golf car controller like say , for instance, E Z Go (curtis)
controller puts out 14.4 KW @ 36V. It does overspeed regen and will not roll
away. It uses a sep-Ex motor special. The max torque will be about
30-35ft-lbs.
Club car Uses curtis Series motor controllers up to 48V @400A They also use
the GE sep-ex controller. The GE is a 48V controller but I do not think you
can get much over 14KW.
If you find a Citi Car axle you might have a decent vehicle. Golf car axles
come with 14.78:1 or 12.55:1 ratios. You want 3:1 to 5:1.
If you want a good steering rack get a newish club car rack.
If you could finangle a drive train from Bombardier you would do well. If
you could get a sep-ex 48v from a 13ton forklift you would do better. I
can't tell you what the controller would be or where to find it. I'd just
look for large forklift controllers that are Electronic and not for series
wound motors.
Good Hunting.
