My RX-7 with a ADC 9" was not adequate  accellerating from a dead stop in
4th gear 1:1 for keeping up with city traffic.  I would at leats suggest
gearing that maxed out the rpm at his absolute max speed (say 55mph) if
he insists on one ratio only.
