Alameda International Electric Vehicle Expo
Forgive me if this is a repost, but I was on vacation
and had just seen in in my email from these folks.
------------------------------------
Alameda International Electric Vehicle Exposition
October 23, 24 and 25 at the former Naval Air Station, Alameda, Ca.
Organizers : City of Alameda Bureau of Electricity, CALSTART,
the Alameda Chamber of Commerce and Winnett Exposition Services, Inc.
The goals for the event are to introduce to the public and promote
this environmentally-friendly, technologically advanced form of
transportation and to showcase Alameda's EV Model City Program.
It is electric, educational, exciting and entertaining family fun.
Displays of experimental electric vehicles as well as production and
near-production EVS, EV equipment and transportation will be placed
throughout the exposition.
Participating companies last year included:
American Honda Motor Co. - Honda EV-Plus
Bombadier - Neighborhood Vehicle
Charger - Electric Bicycles
Ford Motor Co. - Ranger EV
General Motors - EV1
Green Motorworks - EV1 and PIVCO Citi Bee
Pacific Electric Vehicle - Peregrin
PIVCO - Citi Bee
Toyota Motors U.S.A., Inc. - RAV 4 EV
WARSITZ Enterprises - Hydrogen Spirit
ZAP Power Systems - Electric Bikes
Zebra Motorworks - Z-Car
Electric Vehicle Races:
Run on a circuit like those sports cars are run on and on a drag strip.
At stake will be world championship tittles prizes and bragging rights.
The races will be serious for the competitors and fun for the
spectators. Those who expect electric vehicles to be mundane will be
surprised, particularly when they see electric race cars out-run
conventional gasoline-powered race cars.
Ride and Drive opportunities is another feature of the Expo. Last year
ten original equipment manufactured vehicles and two conversions were
available to the public to ride or drive.
Exciting active demonstrations will be staged periodically during the
exposition that will focus attention on aspects of electricity and
electric vehicle transportation.
Possible additional events: celebrity EV rally or parade and possibly
a concert featuring a major performer or group who supports EV
technology.
We are currently looking for sponsors and exhibitors.
