GM, Saturn Launch EV1 in Bay Area via 5 Dealers

3/31/98, San Francisco - General Motors, through its Saturn division, today
launched its EV1 electric car leasing program in the San Francisco Bay Area
and outlined its revamped EV1 marketing campaign. A Saturn press release
says EV1 lessees "are usually leaders in their respective industries, are
environmentally conscious individuals, and early adopters of technology and
innovation." They are also "attracted to the two-passenger coupe because of
its quietness, overall uniqueness, performance and the fact that it's fun to
drive." To reach these customers, Saturn says, it will use regional
newspaper, magazine and billboard advertising. Also, the company offers
information on its Web site ( http://www.gmev.com ) or via a toll-free
number: 1-800-25-ELECTRIC. Saturn dealers in the Bay Area that will offer
the EV1 include: Saturn of San Francisco, Concord, Fremont, Marin and,
beginning in April, Saturn of Capitol Expressway.
