ANNOUNCEMENT: EVonline Forum at http://sloan.stanford.edu/EVonline/forumfront.cfm

Dear EV-List Members,

Greetings from EVonline, the web-based archive dedicated to the
history of electric vehicle drivers and owners. We would like to
invite you to participate in the first of our new series of online
public forums on the history of the electric vehicle. Over the
coming months, we plan to host ongoing discussions of many EV-related
topics.

Our first topic suggestion is EVS-14, the Electric Vehicle Symposium
held December 11-17, 1997 in Orlando, Florida. Based on the
extensive list traffic, the Symposium generated considerable debate.
It seems that some of same people who found themselves dazzled by the
goodies and gizmos in Orlando were also a little leery of such
splendour.

Come to http://sloan.stanford.edu/EVonline/forumfront.cfm -- and tell
us what you think. Is the latest symposium's success a good or bad
sign? Are the big automakers taking over the Electric Vehicle
Symposium, riding on the coattails of smaller converters and
manufacturers, or is the event's success merely evidence that
electric vehicles are finally entering the mainstream?

And to widen the topic of discussion a little, how did this past
year's event compare with previous EVS'es? Have you ever gone to an
EVS? Have you ever presented or exhibited at one of the Electric
Vehicle Symposia? What did you think? Do you miss the old days?
What does this most recent symposium make you think about the future
and the significance of electric vehicles, their market, and their
popularity?

Please come contribute your thoughts, theories and opinions to
EVonline. Your history is our project, and we value your experience
and insights.

Sincerely,

David Kirsch
