It's a great story, John. I also spent a good bit of time this winter
getting my pocket picked by a coon. He took one laying hen per night,
for a long stretch of time.   Live traps - he picked the bait out and
threw the trap aside. Jaw traps - caught plenty of possums and skunks,
but no coon.

Finally one night last week I heard the chickens yelling. Went out to
the chicken house (at 2 AM) and cornered the little bastard. Actually
not little - I've had hunting dogs that were smaller. No matter. He
wasn't gonna win this round.  I switched on the laser sight on my trusty
Ruger 22 pistol. Put the red dot on his head.  End of story. His tail
hangs over the doorway of the chicken house - the largest of the
collection.

Oh, I forgot to preface this for those animal rights people on the list.
I guess you might wish you hadn't read the message. Tough s---.
