Hi Brendan,
        Last February I hauled 20 US-145's from Corona to San Diego in the
back of my '89 Toyota Xtra-cab PU. Most of them were forward of the rear
axel. This was slightly exceeding the owner's manual weight limits. There
was little rear-end sag and the steering did not seem to be affected by the
weight imbalance. IMHO putting some batteries up front would be a good idea
as long as you can keep them behind the front wheels, with the remainder in
front of the rear wheels.
