Sustainable Transportation and Energy Technologies Show - June 13th

At the expense of boring everybody..... I sent this posting out on the
26th, but I did not get it sent back to me via the list... I saw very no
list activity on the weekend, and therefore I think my post went into
cyberspace..... so here it is again. My apologies, if this is indeed a
repeat message............

The Durham Electric Vehicle Association and the Professional Engineers of
Ontario want to thank everyone for coming to the "Sustainable
Transportation and Energy Show" on Saturday June 13th.

We hope that everyone found the show enjoyable and informative. By our
counting, approximately 400 people came to the show, and the follow-up
press coverage was excellent. We especially want to thank all of the
exhibitors who brought their products and ideas to put on display, and we
want to thank the staff at Durham College for allowing us the use of their
excellent facilities.

The Exibits are summarized as follows:
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle 1
Electrothon Car 2
High School Cars built for Queens University Electric Car Contest: 2
High School Robot 1
High School full sized electric car conversion 1
Factory built original electric cars 2
Private individual full sized electric car conversions 4
Natural Gas Van 1
Electric Bicycle 1
Electric Garden Tractor 1
Electric Lawnmover 1
Display Booths, EV information, and components 10
TV's and VCR's displaying EV's in action information 2
_______ Total number of exhibits: 29
We certainly call this show a success; and, we are now organizing a similar
show to be held next year at about the same time.
Please watch for details as they become available we will send them to you.
For more information about the show, or the Professional Engineers of
Ontario, or the Durham Electric Vehicle Association, please call, fax, or
e-mail Eric Jelinski as above or call Tom Odell at 905-668-2074.

The Durham Electric Vehicle Association (DEVA) is made up of a group of
interested individuals and companies whose primary interest is in pooling
resources via DEVA in the interest of electric vehicles. Annual membership
is $30 for individuals and $100 for corporations. Membership benefits
include newsletters and regular meetings that provide a forum for "Tech
Topics" where the hands-on applications for ev conversions are discussed in
a group forum. Durham College also provides for a course in Electric
Vehicle Technology which will next be offered in January to april 1999.
We are located in the Region of Durham, at the Durham College, Skills
Training Center Campus, which is on the north east corner of the Thickson
Road exit from the hwy 401. This location is about1/2 hour east of Toronto.
Our meetings are at 7:30 pm on the first Thursday of every month, ie. July
2nd, August 6th, Sept 3rd, Oct 1st.
Please refer to the website below for regular updates and events. (We are
in the growth mode.... so a few things like the website will eventually be
separated from the business site of Durham Electric Wheels. We hope to
hear from anybody interested in ev's.
regards,

Yours truly,
Eric Jelinski, P. Eng. President, Durham Electric Vehicle Association
