It is a good idea. Lots of folks have commented on this, with various ideas
for formats and subjects, so I won't add my 2 watts in this area. However, I
would like to point out a few problems to be overcome.

For the originator: It takes a lot of work to create the information, more to
post it, and even more to support the comments and requests for help (ranging
from inspired to inane) that will follow. The ideas become public domain, and
no longer copyrightable or patentable. All of this is free work (zero compensation).

For the viewer: Submissions will inevitably be in different formats, some of
which you can't view or print. The drawings will not be in an editable format
in case you want to make changes or corrections.

Long term: Computer technology keeps changing. Next month, the software
formats change. Next year, the site address changes. In 3 years, you change
computers, and can no longer access the data at all.

As soon as you get into drawings and schematics, I think the printed page is
the logical way to go. This is the sort of information you publish in books
and newsletters.

What we lack is not a website, but a publication that is attuned to the needs
of the EV builder.
