I'm certainly not a fan of the inductive system, but 99.99% is nowhere
close to accurate. GM has about 500 EV1s and at least 300 S10s, and
they've installed thousands of the Magna-charge units in CA and Arizona.
To date, there still are more conversion than OEM vehicles (by a factor
of 3 to 10, or more if you including golf carts) but at least 5% of the EVs

on the road in the US are now made by GM with inductive. The conductive
OEM EVs in the US might total another 5%. Of the remaining 90%
(or 70%), virtually all use non-NEC 625 approved charging methods.
And then if you look at vehicle-miles-traveled figures, you'd probably find

that OEM EVs are covering probably 2-3 times the annual distance of
conversion. The inductive system [unfortunately] has made a lot of head-
way toward becoming the standard for OEM EVs.
