Re: motor problems/opportunitie

        Hi Eric and All;

Yes, you're right on, with the motor failure situation. After being told that I'm
on my own with a grounded armature coil on my 9" advanced, even after being
told that, unananously, by 4 motor shops thst the failure WAS due to poor
construction, not abuse, that zorched it to death. Not much wining about
motors on the List, cuz, I guess it hasn't been a problem for the most of folks
that are running that model of motor. Nothing that a $650 new armature won't
fix! FEH! Then they say, ya might as well buy a new motor!

But, like you say, if it goes, it's like throw that $$1000+ investment away,
not a very encouraging story as to "How's yur electic car doin' , can I have a
ride?" and the G.D. motor's all apart on the bench. How many times I've had
THAT line in the last few weeks.

The Chinese motors sound interesting. Bill Niel, ase ya listening? You had
150 of them. Never a word, even on your slick website on EV's, as to the
specs, etc. Hey, if we can fond a halfway decent motor to sell at only a bit over
cost, so as to PROMOTE more hobbiests to build EV's Howbout a 300-400$
basic motor, that folks on a budget could afford, and back it up with a halfway
REALISTIC gaurantee. If the motor's any good, you won't be eating very many.
A traction motor can tell alot about its past living conditions, or how it was
abused, etc. It wouldn't be hard to gaurantee the ones that wern't murdered.

Please keep the motor dialogue going, Eric, you seen to have connections
here.
