  In our old catalog we listed the 9 inch at 28.5 HP which is the
continuous duty rating at 144 volts DC. If you check our new catalog which
you can download from our web site at <www.evparts.com> you will find that
we no longer list horsepower because it varies so much depending on voltage
and amps. Reading directly from an Advanced DC spec sheet the 9 inch has a
continuous duty HP of 20 at 96 VDC, 25.2 at 120 VDC and 28.5 at 144 VDC.
You can see how confusing this can be. The one hour rating is more in line
with typical EV useage. From the same spec sheet it reads 23 HP at 96 VDC,
27.5 HP at 120 VDC, and 30.4 HP at 144 VDC. The ratings I have for the 8
inch are for 96 and 120 VDC. They are 19 cont. and 20.6 HP at the one hour
on 96 VDC and at 120 VDC they are 21.7 cont. and 24 HP at the one hour. I
think you can begin to see the problem here with putting out HP figures.
Peak horsepowers are another animal altogether. We have gotten about 270
peak HP out of a 9 inch running 336 volts with a 1000 amp controller which
is now considered a small controller in racing circles. I hope this has
