Re: Woodburn first-person
Russell (and others),
Thanks for the post-Woodburn post! Thanks all for posting your
experiences and feelings about Woodburn. I, too, had a wonderful
time. Of course the highlights were Dennis's and Rod's excellent
times and incredible showings against the Vipers. The lowlights
(i.e. biggest disappointments) were the two catastrophic
transmission-related failures we had (Bill Dube' and John Wayland).
Overall, though, it was a wonderful event. I renewed old
acquaintances and made new ones. I look forward to seeing many of
them again at Woodburn.
I would also like to thank all our volunteers at Woodburn, as they
helped the whole event run smoothly. Thanks to Russell Levine and his
son Aaron, Paul Wallace, Bill Bruder, Erik Sutton, Henry Deaton, and
others. Thanks, too, to NEDRA board members Lou Tauber and Bill Dube'
and Stephanie Masumura for their hard work at race day. Of course,
John Bryan was also hard at work filming the event...watch for
information on how to order the video!
As a correction to your post, Russell, you said that the Alameda drags
are not "official". This is not correct. They ARE official. It is a
NEDRA-sanctioned event, which means that any records set there will be
recognized by NEDRA.
Look for details (more are forthcoming) on the NEDRA web site
http://www.nedra.com and in the next NEDRA newsletter (also
forthcoming).
