The 11 1/8" is to the top of the terminal--the universal style terminal used
for golf carts, which you *don't* want in your EV.  The case itself is 9
11/16".  It's 10 7/8" to the top of an "L" style terminal.

These measurements were taken from U.S. Batteries model #8V-GC, and are the
same for the US #125 6V.  Can't say for sure on Trojans, but the difference
would be minimal.  If Trojan says 11 1/8", that would surely be to the top
of their terminals as well.
