Hi Steve,
I've had my Kostov up to 6500 and it held together. The "factory" admits it
should be good for 6000, however due to manufacturing (people) differences
(read soldering finess) they would only recommend 4000. Keep in mind that a
llimit attained one time may not work again another time if the commutator
temperature is higher. A cold commutator will sustain greater force than a
hot
one. Keep that in mind for setting your rev limit.
Since you have a unique situation with the hills, I would suggest you be
conservative until such time as you can pull the armature and wrap the
commutator with piano wire beyond the brush area and you will effectively
increase the rpm limit.
