First, let me compliment you on a fantastic first EV! Your pickup sounds like
a real winner!

Dynamic brakes use the existing traction motor. They just dump the energy into
resistors instead of batteries. Resistors don't care what the voltage is, so
you need less sophisticated circuitry.

Crudely speaking, switch a resistor across that Kostov and you'll have all the
braking you could ever want! The value of the resistor determines the braking
force. You may want several values (selectable with contactors) because the
current (and thus braking force) varies with motor speed.
