EV - The San Diego Union-Tribune (SDU) AUTO San Diego International
Auto Show UNION-TRIBUNE 03/27/99 (Copyright 1999) WHAT:
1999 San Diego International Auto Show, presented by the New Car
Dealers Association of San Diego County and sponsored by The San
Diego Union-Tribune
WHERE: San Diego Convention Center, 111 W. Harbor Drive
GETTING THERE: By car: From Interstate 5 South exit at Front Street;
from I-5 North, use the Crosby Street exit. By trolley: Convention
center stop. Parking, $4.
The show will provide free shuttle service Friday, Saturday and Sunday
from nearby parking lots.
The shuttles, sponsored by Target stores, will make stops at Ash and
Harbor streets, the Embassy Suites intersection and the Hyatt Hotel
intersection. They will run continuously from noon until closing.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 31, through Easter Sunday, April 4. Hours: 5 to
10 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; 10
a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday
TICKETS: Adults, 13 and older, $8 Seniors, 62 and older, $5 Children,
7 to 12, $4; those younger than 6 are admitted free Military with
I.D., $6 or $5 if bought in advance at base ticket office Discount
coupons available at the Web site, participating new car dealerships
and Target stores and McDonald's restaurants

SPECIAL FEATURES [...] GM EV1 ride and drive, Thursday to Sunday.
SPECIAL EXHIBITS International Design Showcase. Five manufacturers
present California-influenced vehicles and a behind-the-scenes look at
the creative process.
Exotic cars, including a Bentley Continental SC coupe, Ferrari 550 and
Lotus Esprit V-8, will be shown by Symbolic Motor Car Co. of La Jolla;
a Lamborghini will be shown by Platinum Motors of Orange County.
Vintage vehicles, shown by the San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa
Park, will include a 1937 Cord, a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr, a 1963 Pontiac
Bonneville Convertible and others.
