Low RPM motor

While contemplating a future low-speed conversion (RAV4 w/ ICE to FWD for
freeway use, EV to RWD for short-distance city driving), I've plugged in
numbers to Uve's calculator site, and realize that direct-drive for a maximum
of 40-45mph gives only a peak of about 2300-2400RPM, with most driving @ ~1600
range.

What I'd like to know is what kind of motor is comfortable in this low of an
RPM range, but is no more than 8-9" diameter (to fit in the tunnel)? I think
I'd need an available peak HP of ~35 (minor hills at 30mph max)), so an AdvDC
A89, 72-96V of Optimas, and a Curtis or Raptor fits, although a LEMCO, paired
Optimas for 48V and 4QD controller might do for lower HP but w/ regen. Any
other alternatives?
