Gosh, I know that. Why didn't I think of it? Age related, I'm sure.
Actually, the 22 was from something about the vacuum pumps on one of the ev
websites, so it must have been in. of mercury, and I didn't pay any
attention.

So then, converting. If a normal vacuum pump gets by with 22 in. instead of
29.92, that would be 14.7 x 22 / 29.92 = 10.8 psi. So, at 50 sq.in. = 540
pounds. All of this is pretty loose, but hopefully closer than the first
try!
