Nevada now allows NEV registration

We can now register low-speed vehicles in Nevada, NEVs to us, and drive
them on roads with 35 mph speed limits. I know a lot of you would not
be seen in a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle without a bag over your head
because they don't go fast, but they are the only EVs available here if
you don't want to build one yourself, and would like a guarantee and
maintenance. It may be possible to order a Ford Ranger from the local
dealer but Nevada Power has the only one I have seen here. Around the
university there is a large population which could make use of a
Bombardier or similar vehicle. People in our retirement communities are
already using them. Short distance, low-speed commuting is an
application for which EVs are ideally suited, without the need for new
battery technology, fuel cells or fast charging. There is a niche for
these vehicles and the more of them we get on the road the more people
there will be who learn about EVs and be comfortable with them when a
larger version shows up in the dealerships. I think this is a move in
the right direction for Nevada. Since I heard the bill was in the works
I have been watching the speed limits on the roads I travel and have
determined that I can get to almost all my usual destinations in a NEV.
I wonder if they would take an old EV in trade. :)
