Catch up? I don't THINK so! Anyway, his words did not seem malicious, just
horribly uninformed about todays EV. He was in some sort of small size type
of 4x4 "Blazer" type of POS (I generally *hate* 4x4's, sorry to owners of
them). Actaully we did the lane swap as I wanted off at airport road for
the surface streets home (right after reaching 60mph too). Remember, my
batteries where at 50% DOD at the *bottom* of the hill (at best), and my
range is only about 20 *polite*(grrr) miles. I really don't have the kick
with a 1221b to go around trying much rubbing in anyway. More than you can
use unless at the pole spot of a light, but not exactly a hot rod. With a
DCP 1200 and 2 more Optimas it would be a most scary ride (around 170hp and
about 1550lbs). However, I think I have an all season daily driver to build
first.

I must say that overall, I'm quite happy with the EVDB. Its well over 200
miles since conversion first drive about 1 month ago. Its a full time
bright purple roadster, and WA weather has *not* been cooperating with me
putting miles on it. The EVness is very discrete except for the obvious
motor and plates (PLUGITN). With the VW power clearly missing out back most
intelligent people realize its an EV very quick. I've had comments *every*
trip out about how cool that is, I've even had one offer to buy it (had to
decline, I've only had it a running EV for a month). The only problem I've
noticed is that I don't have the 12v power to spare for powerfull tunes
(now tunes could actually be usefull).
