I did a 63 Spit about 10 years ago.
We put GT6 suspension in it with an extra leaf in the rear.
The Datsun 510 diff almost bolts in as did the Datsun 1200 tranny.
Broke a couple of rear axles though.  :)
It only had 72 volts driving an aircraft generator and a 1221B Curtis
controller.
It autocrossed a few times, not as competitive as our all out racing 510
but a crowd pleaser.

I have had really good results with the NG3 and Smoother on our Geo.

That an awful amount of torque for the stock drive line to deal with!
